Welcome to another plane spotting video everyone!!
There is a lot more content on the way so subscribe for more, also like and share.
I will try my best to answer any questions.
While out spotting today, we were surprised by a very rare, special guest, the Royal Australian Air Force's own Airbus KC-30A (A330-203MRTT). She took off from RAAF Base Amberley, escorted and along the way refueled by air, two RAAF F-18's from RAAF Base Williamtown en route to RNZAF Base Ohakea for the RNZAF 2017 Air Tattoo, celebrating 80 years of the RNZAF. The KC-30A is expected to return to pick up and escort the F-18's back home after this weekends airshow.
The aircraft sat on taxiway Alpha beside A8 for 20 minutes as a courtesy stop without refueling before taxiing to 23L for departure
Apologies for the filming, the conditions were not desirable, and we were averaging 25C temps (30+ on tarmac) from mid-morning until late-afternoon and 22km/h winds with strong gusts.
